Have you ever felt out of your element in the workplace or just felt extremely uncomfortable in a certain situation? If so, it might be because you are pursuing the wrong career or not working towards your strengths. If that's the case, then maybe it's time to move on and get back on track in working towards a career that fits your personality and of course, strengths.
When I first started college I found myself in this very situation. In my first two years I had changed my major three times going from communication, to political science, then to pre-med. It wasn't until I had taken a kinesiology course called biomechanics as an elective did I realize that all those other majors were not for me. After only a few weeks in biomechanics I knew that I needed to change my major to kinesiology: exercise science because that was the Major that fit my personality and strengths the most. All of my life I have devoted my time to sports, fitness, and health and that is what exercise science is all about. I knew that I already had strengths in these areas and that I could achieve the most success and satisfaction from a career related to exercise science. I have since graduated from Fresno Pacific University with a B.A. in Exercise Science, am working towards a Master's degree in Exercise Science, working as a personal trainer, and am pursuing a career as a Strength and Conditioning coach for athletes at the collegiate level. Furthermore, my point is to take a look at yourself and evaluate your situation. Are you working towards your strengths and interests, or are you in a position within a career that makes you feel uncomfortable and out of place? If so, then seriously consider thinking about what you are good at and what you really want to achieve in life. After that, take the necessary steps to put yourself in a position to work towards those strengths and you will find yourself living a more positive meaningful life!
